Learning shorthand is a very useful skill to have and many organisations look for this skill when employing PAs, Executive Assistants as well as Medical Secretaries and Administrators.

Teeline Shorthand is a quick and flexible shorthand system.  The level of theory to learn is a lot less compared to other systems and you are also encouraged to create your own ideas – it is your shorthand and for you to use and feel happy with.

Using your shorthand on a daily basis whilst learning – albeit in a limited way – is something to be encouraged as this will speed up your shorthand skills really quickly.

The key point to remember – is that you can write the spoken word using Teeline shorthand and you can transcribe your notes with confidence and ease.  You may introduce your own way of doing certain words, not use some theory or extend some theory ideas.

The key is in the transcription!  You need to feel confident with this from the beginning.

You will be studying the theory of the system as well as developing your penmanship, reading skills, writing skills, speed and transcription.

Each separate skill links with the other skills building up the full skill of being able to take down the spoken word at a verbatim level and transcribe back the notes with a professional level of accuracy.
